Bella’s Story
Green Living Green Planet Local Teen puts her inspirational Call into Action!
Bella Mesa a local Charlotte County resident and Middle School student was inspired to take action by a recent trip with her parents Nelson and Heather Mesa to a local beach that was being affected by the green algae impacting sea life and people.
Bella’s parents described how shocked and sad she became seeing the impact on sea life.
They shared how Bella stated, “we have to do something to help”. Afterwards on their way home and upon arrival she began to explore how to put her call to help into action. One of the first solutions chosen by Bella was to wrap her lunch in reusable lunch bags to use less plastics. Reducing the plastic overflow is one of the Green Living Green Planet not for profit organization’s goals with the “Drink out of anything but Plastic” campaign and yearly contest carried out for the last four years with students attending Charlotte County Schools.
As a result, when Bella’s mother Heather shared this story with Tania Garcia the Green Living Green Organization’s Executive Director she was invited to ask Bella if she wanted to participate in the 1st Annual Saving the Earth from Us event held on August 25th, 2018 at Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda.
Bella supported by her parents obtained the supplies and began Bella Sea Life Face & Body Painting to support the 1st Annual Saving the Earth from Us event and help thereby help sea life and people in Charlotte County Florida and adjacent communities.
Green Living Green Planet admires Bella’s inspiration and her Parents initiative in helping reduce the chemical impact on land and sea for people and other species.
